Trou aux Cerfs is located in the town of Curepipe which is located almost in the middle of the island. Curepipe the name of the town is said having got its name from the French who during their journey used to stop at this part of the island to clean their pipes. “cure” which means clean and “pipe” is pipe. Curepipe is usually humid and colder than other parts on the coastal areas as it is located on the central plateau.
